Question:

How can you fill in an area with thread to get an embroidered look with a quilting machine?

Answer:

It’s been done! We call it the “Longstitch”. Just anchor your thread by using the needle positioner and tacking . Next drag the thread the distance you wish and anchor the thread again by tacking. Keep doing this process until the area is sufficiently filled in. Some machines can be slowed down enough and the quilter has a good skill level so the quilter can get a rhythm and move with the single stitches of the slow speed of the machine.

  1. I like it! Going to try this while I play with different upper and bobbin threads. Thanks for the pics. I use a long stitch..but I can see this would really help accuracy.
