TinLizzie 18 Long Arm Quilting Machine

TinLizzie's flagship machine!

When I am finished quilting for the day I oil my Machine as recommended. I have found that it will leak a couple of drops of oil from the casting behind the bobbin overnight. Is this normal?

It is Normal to have a few Oil drops underneath your machine after oiling, however It is not necessary to oil this area after each quilt. Over oiling will cause excessive oil drain on the underside of the machine and show on the top or bottom carriage. Please check the oil dip stick first if you see or feel oil on the dip stick oil is not needed in this area. Oil will flow to the hook area automatically  with the TinLizzie18.    The TinLizzie18 Team

I bought a Tin Lizzie LS in Dec.2010 from Sewing Machines Plus,it was supposedly a floor model that was factory refurbished. It didn’t come with the oil dip stick, is there any way that I can get one? I have searched on the internet but have been unable to locate one.

I just purchased a pre-owned Tin Lizzie 18 through a consignment at my local fabric store. It is in excellent condition and works like a charm. However; I do have a question… Where do I find the model # and the serial #? Most of the paperwork which came with it look like they are newer than the machine including the DVD. I would like to know which model I have and when she was manufactured. Any help will be appreciated.

Maxine, The Serial number can be found under the white control box, it will be a 6 numbers. If you have trouble finding it still it could be an older model prior to placing serial numbers. The TinLizzie18 Team

Donald, I recommend that you contact our service department at 888-Quilt- 18 becasue when dealing with thread breakage there is so many little factors that can be the problem anywhere from Type of Thread to Needle Placement. The TinLizzie18 Team

  4. I agree. The tech (Robert from Rachael’s Fine Fabrics in Lubbock, TX) filled my oil tank when he set up my machine. He used about 1.5 oz of oil (give or take a bit). He mentioned to try not to overfill, and that some may leak out at first…and it did.
I now check the level every quilt, and if the dipstick shows oil about 3/4 of the way up, I don’t add any…I add when it gets to about half…4-5 drops is usually enough. I add 2 drops to the top of the machine every other quilt.
